Is ADHD making your life harder than you would like it to be?
Do you struggle with wanting to handle things better, but not knowing how?
Do you long to be seen, heard, and understood?
Want to be confident about who you are, successful in life and partnership?
Do you wish you could move beyond your current struggle and understand yourself more deeply?
If you need support, education, and help navigating your neurodiversity. Or if you need support helping a loved one navigate their neurodiversity. I use a strength-based approach examining neurodiversity not as broken but from a perspective of learning the ‘code’ to address “how do I get to my goal when the world has been designed for the neurotypical thinker?”
“Life is a balance of holding on and letting go and one of the joyful moments in life is when you find the courage to let go of what you can’t control.”
Approach to Counseling
My work experience has been predominantly working with those on the neurodiversity spectrum (Autism and/or ADHD/ADD), providing specialized and specific therapeutic approaches for those on the spectrum who are experiencing stress, grief, trauma, sensory dysregulation, anxiety, and/or depression. In the past, I have provided professional training resources and workshops for those who want to learn more about neurodiversity. Information is key. My experience includes working collaboratively with schools to provide support, training, and strategies in an educational setting. I am here if you need my support or expertise, as I have many resources. I like to gather as much information as possible so I can utilize the best, most up-to-date tools to present my clients with well-informed options. Together, my clients and I work to discover their individual therapy goals and needs as we move toward finding life balance.
My approach is compassionate and warm (and pretty chill). I like to give people space to talk and the choice to try out some options that work. Once they are ready for more, I give them space to be accountable and to ask for what they need.
Eileen’s Niche
My experience has been predominantly working within the neurodiversity spectrum community (Autism and/or ADHD/ADD), providing specialized and specific therapeutic approaches for anxiety and depression, training, and resources. Together, we can work on discovering your individual therapy needs to help regulate and find balance.
I am deeply committed to supporting those experiencing anxiety and depression, by providing compassionate, functional, and practical resources, supports, and strategies that make sense for each person's life goals. Understanding that you are not alone and that there is support for you and what you are going through can make all the difference.
I use evidence-based and client-centered approaches that are individualized to my clients. Strength-based and neurodiverse-affirming strategies are discussed as we build a plan for beginning our work together. During therapy, we can work together to help understand the "whys" and "now what" questions to help develop awareness and learn how to change behaviour to achieve your goals.
